Our Story

We are Sam and Scotney Blackburn, a chef and a gardener who found a way to build something together on a small farm in El Prado, New Mexico. Sam has spent his career in professional kitchens, earning some of the highest credentials a chef can hold and competing on a global stage, always guided by a commitment to honest ingredients, sustainable practice, and zero waste. Scotney has spent years with her hands in the ground, transforming their property into a regenerative landscape, earning her Master Gardener certification, and building Garnish Photography into a creative practice born from a deep love of food, land, and the beauty of both.

Chef & Garnish is where those two worlds meet. It is a farm, a kitchen, a consulting practice, and a launching pad for everything they are building together, including Blackburn Provisions, Sam's scratch-made prepared food line built on the same philosophy they live by every day. We work with schools, private homeowners, restaurants, developers, retreats, and anyone who believes that good food and well tended land make life better.
